Q&A

Short answers about AE and about engineering thermodynamics.

Do I have to type the word problem in?

No. What you enter into Analysis, Substances, Schematic and Specifications is the problem definition. There is nothing to paste.

Where do I start?

Left to right: say what kind of problem it is, name the substance, draw the system, enter what you know, then solve.

A stage is not available yet — why?

Each stage names its own prerequisite in plain language. Do the stage it points at, then come back.

My problem is only about one state.

You still draw one control volume — a control mass is a control volume with no mass ports. Place it, then add the state in Specifications.

How does AE get the answer?

It builds the equations from the system you drew and searches for valid solution paths. Solve shows every step it used.
